Inviting Others to Record a Memory

Learn how to invite people in your circles to record and share a memory about a topic.

This guide covers how to invite someone in your Ember circles to record and share a memory about a specific topic.

From your home screen, tap the topic you'd like someone to record. On the Topic card, choose Invite someone — you'll see the people in your family or circle, so pick the person you want to ask.

If you don't see everyone you expect, use the circle switcher at the top left to change to a different circle.

Choose how to reach them — phone or email — and tap SEND INVITE. We also recommend copying the invite link and messaging them directly. Note: a person has to accept your circle invite and join before they can receive topic requests, so add them to your circle first if you haven't. (See the guide on inviting your family and friends.)

Once an invite is out, you'll see Invite Sent. If someone hasn't recorded their topic yet, you can send a gentle nudge with REMIND.

When someone finishes a topic you invited them to, the badge on their card updates — tap it to open the memory in Memory Studio and listen, read, or create a story from it.

To see topics other people have invited you to record, look for them on your home screen: invitations appear right on the relevant topic card.
