Learn about Personal and Shared Plan pricing.

Ember supports two types of subscription plans: Personal and Shared. Shared plans are tied to circles that aren’t your private circle.

Ember is meant to be a shared experience, so you can set up one billing for everyone in your group. However, we recognize you may want to use Ember as a private vault, and so we also offer Personal billing.

To manage shared billing, look for the Circle Billing card in your circles in the app.

To manage personal billing, you can go to https://rem.ember.build/people/me.

If you’re on a Shared plan, activity in that billed shared circle is covered there. Personal remains for your private usage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do shared plans require a minimum number of people?

No. Shared billing can start with 1 person.

What if I signed up for both a Shared and a Personal plan? Is there any benefit?

Not really. Personal covers usage in your private circle. Shared covers usage in shared circles. If you plan to use Ember collaboratively with people you love, we usually recommend just getting a Shared plan.

Do you offer discounts by size of group in a Shared plan?

Yes. Shared plans with 5 or more people receive a per-user discount which is applied automatically.

Can I still pay separately for a Personal plan if I’m part of a Shared plan with other people?

Yes. Personal covers your private usage. However, if you use Ember in a shared circle with other people, there’s a grace period before Shared billing is required.

I have multiple circles and not all of them have billing activated. How does usage get charged for those?

If a shared circle does not have billing set up yet, it may have a trial period before Shared billing is required to keep using it.
