Inviting your Family & Friends

Learn how to invite people into your Ember circles and track their status.

This guide covers how to invite your friends and family into your Ember circles.

First, open your People page. Tap your profile photo in the far top right of any screen and choose Go to profile — you can also reach it from the circle switcher's Add/Manage Circles.

On People you'll find a few cards. Primary Family is a shortcut to the circle you've set as your main family; you can change which circle it points to from your Me / Profile Settings card. The Circles card opens the full list of circles you belong to — think of each circle as both a membership (a group you share with) and a folder (where those memories live).

To invite someone, open Circles and find the Add Circle Member option. We recommend adding a photo of the person, but it's optional. Choose your relationship to them (like Mother, Father, or Grandma) and tap next, then fill in their details — not every field is required, but the more you add, the better the experience for them.

Next, invite them by phone or email and tap SEND INVITE. They'll get a message with a link; opening it lets them sign in and accept the invite to join your circle. If they sign up on their own without the link, that's fine too — as long as the invite used their correct email or phone number, it will connect.

You can track pending invitations from the Circles page, where each person's card shows the status of their invite.
