Saving & Organizing Memories
Learn how to save & organize your memories.
This guide covers how to save a memory and control who can see it.
Every memory belongs to one circle, set by the circle you're in when you start, so make sure you're in the right one before you record. You can switch circles with the circle switcher at the top of your home screen, then open the topic from there.
When you finish a conversation, press End to reach the save screen. Here you can:
- Set who can see the memory under "Who can see this memory?" — Selected circles (only the circles you choose), All my circles, or Anyone signed in. You can change this later.
- Leave quick, anonymous feedback on how the conversation went. It's never shown to anyone and simply helps Ember improve.
- Give the memory a title, choose its Era, and set a Mood. None of this has to be perfect — just pick what fits.
A note on Eras: eras sort your memories into the chapters of a life — Childhood, Teenage Years, Twenties, Thirties, 40-60, and 60+. The early chapters are specific because life tends to unfold in shared stages — childhood, the teenage years, young adulthood. After that, life drifts differently for everyone, so the later chapters are broader. Just pick the era the memory belongs to.
You can also save a memory as a Time Capsule. Turn on "Make this a time capsule memory" and set an Unlock on date: the card appears in your archive right away, but stays sealed — to you and everyone else — until that date arrives. It's a lovely way to leave a message for a future you, or for your children and grandchildren.
Once saved, the memory appears in its era on your home screen while Ember prepares a transcript and a short summary.
