Pricing Usage

Usage

Understand included allowances and how AI and storage overages are billed.

Ember bills in two layers: a base subscription for the plan and measured overages only when usage goes beyond the included allowance for that billing account.

Shared usage is pooled onto the billed account. Personal covers only the solo user’s private activity.

How Ember measures usage

Included usage scales with your plan. Each billed seat includes AI credits and retained storage before any overage applies.

AI is billed in credits, not by every raw token. Ember converts 1,000 AI tokens into 1 billing credit, then charges $0.10 per credit above the included allowance.

Storage is billed like rent. Storage overage is based on retained byte-days and priced as $0.05 per GB-month, so keeping data around longer costs more than brief uploads that are deleted quickly.

Delinquency caps are a separate safety policy. They are not the same thing as ordinary overage pricing and are not used to explain normal month-to-month billing.

AI credits

1 credit = 1,000 AI tokens

0.10 per credit above your included allowance

Retained storage

0.05 per GB-month above your included allowance

Calculated from retained byte-days, so longer retention costs more than short-lived uploads.
