Pricing Philosophy

Philosophy

Ember is about remembering the stories that matter. People pay so Ember does not have to sell their memories.

Some stories stay private. Some you share with a circle you choose. Pricing is built for both.

Two kinds of plan

Personal is how you use Ember: talking, remembering, sharing with the people you choose.

Group is for a school, church, archive, or a family with a box of tapes: a place that needs to hold other people's recordings. Family, Org, and Org Max live here. Ember does the work of a personal historian and a transcriber. Invite anyone. You only pay for people who actually use Ember that month.

A circle can pay for its members, so nobody has to buy their own plan. That is a setting on the circle, not a third kind of plan.

Personal plans or Group plans.

Our principles

Your memories stay yours

Whether you pay or not, what you have made remains yours. You keep access to everything you have recorded.

We charge a subscription so we do not sell your data

Ember costs money to run: the listening, the remembering, the writing. A subscription means we can do that work without ads, and without turning your memories into a product for someone else.

Share what you choose

Some stories are for everyone you love, and some are only for you. Pricing should respect both.

Provide meaning

Ember is meant to turn conversations into durable meaning, not disposable content.
