Delete Account
You can delete your Ember account from the app or by contacting us by email.
For account deletion or privacy help, contact privacy@ember.build.
1) Delete Your Account In The App
Open Ember, go to Settings, choose the account deletion option, and confirm the request. The app may ask you to authenticate again before deletion begins.
When you request deletion, Ember revokes your active sessions and begins a 30-day recoverable grace period.
2) 30-Day Recovery Grace Period
During the 30-day grace period, your account is scheduled for deletion and your account and data are not visible to other users. You can recover the account by signing back in before the grace period ends.
Once the grace period ends, or once irreversible deletion work begins, the account and associated content cannot be recovered.
3) What Gets Deleted
Deletion is designed to remove or de-identify account information and content associated with your account, including profile information, private memories, recordings, transcripts, story drafts, attachments, and app data that is no longer needed.
Content you shared with other people may remain visible to those recipients where they have their own copy, shared context, legal right, or account record. Public links and Circle access may be disabled as part of deletion where technically and legally available.
4) What May Be Retained
We may retain limited information when needed for legal, tax, accounting, billing, chargeback, fraud prevention, security, trust and safety, audit, backup, dispute-resolution, or compliance purposes.
Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before it is overwritten or purged.
5) Email Fallback
If you cannot access the app, email privacy@ember.build from the email address associated with your account and ask us to delete your Ember account. We may verify your identity before processing the request.
