Community Guidelines

Ember is for preserving meaningful memories, sharing them with people you want to remember with, and creating beautiful art from memories. These Community Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed when using Ember.

1) Respect Consent and Privacy

Only record, upload, invite, or share content when you have the rights and permissions needed to do so. Do not disclose someone else's private information, confidential information, voice, image, or story without permission.

2) Prohibited Content and Conduct

You may not use Ember to create, upload, share, request, or promote:

• child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors,
• non-consensual intimate imagery or sexual exploitation,
• harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, intimidation, or doxxing,
• hate, extremist, or terrorist content,
• credible threats, instructions for violence, or content encouraging self-harm,
• illegal activity, fraud, scams, impersonation, or deceptive conduct,
• malware, phishing, spam, or attempts to compromise systems,
• content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or confidentiality rights,
• graphic violence, abuse, or exploitation outside a permitted documentary or memorial context,
• attempts to evade moderation, reporting, blocking, or safety systems.

3) Shared and Generated Content

Ember may filter, block, label, remove, or limit distribution of shared or generated content when we believe it may violate these Guidelines, our Terms, law, or safety expectations. AI-generated or AI-assisted content must still follow these Guidelines.

4) Reporting and Blocking

You can report content or behavior in the app where reporting tools are available. You can also contact report@ember.build. If another member is making you uncomfortable, use member block tools where available and consider leaving shared Circles or contacting a Circle admin.

Reports should include enough detail for us to review the issue, such as the account(s), Circle(s), content, or behavior involved. Do not send illegal content unless we specifically request information needed for a safety review.

5) Enforcement

We may remove content, restrict sharing, disable public links, block generated output, warn users, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or report to authorities when appropriate.

We consider context, severity, history, legal obligations, and risk of harm. We may act without advance notice when needed for safety, security, or legal reasons.
